Nahant DPW / NGC Collaboration: Dory Club
Zachary Taylor, Superintendent of the Nahant Department of Public Works, will discuss the work of his department and ways in which the NGC and DPW can collaborate.

October 28, 2021: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Fall Floral Design Presentation: The Nahant Village Church
Janice, NGC member, will design autumn arrangements using a variety of garden materials.

November 23, 2021: 11 a.m.
Boxwood Tree Workshop: Life Saving Station
Janice NGC member will join us again to help members create holiday boxwood trees that will be available for sale.

A fun night to mix and mingle and . . . sing courtesy of piano player, Marlene Daley. Please bring an unwrapped toy for age groups infant through teen.

Nature in Nahant, The Florence Johnson Herbarium: Nahant Public Library
Sharon Hawkes, Nahant Library director, introduces us to schoolteacher Florence "Miss Flossie" Johnson, her Nahant School pupils, and the pressed plant collection they made for a Massachusetts Horticultural Society exhibition in 1897.

Annual Tides Restaurant NGC Fundraiser
Bid on fantastic raffle and silent auction items donated by local businesses. The Tides Restaurant will donate 10% of the evening’s proceeds from both the restaurant and pub to the NGC.

March 24, 2022: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Floral Design Presentation by Andrew Anderson: Life Saving Station
Co-owner of Ilex Designs in Boston, Andrew grew up helping his mother in their large vegetable garden and plucking and “arranging” his grandmother’s peonies from her garden.

April 28, 2022: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Arbor Day Celebration: Knights of Columbus
Vi, NGC Member and conservationist, together with Marc Carbone, Certified Arborist and Nahant Tree Warden, will discuss the trees of Nahant and answer your questions after a presentation about trees and how to select and care for them.

May 14, 2022: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
NGC Plant Sale: Life Saving Station
Come and purchase beautiful plants, including annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, and house plants. In addition to helping you find the perfect plant for the perfect location, this is a great opportunity to divide your plants and donate those to the NGC for this sale.

Bacheller Award Ceremony: Knights of Columbus
Heritage Roses Presentation
Nancy will discuss heritage roses, including planting tips, maintenance, disease control, and more.

Memorial Day Wreath Workshop (members only): Jeannie’s garage
Join fellow NGC members in donating your time and skills to make various wreaths for Nahant’s Memorial Day observance.

The annual business meeting includes reports from each committee and voting of new NGC Board members.
